Odd thing was that I didn't see a single other 911 the whole trip. Makes you realize that they are rarer than we think. Some of it was due to the weather. So few owners drive them if there is a 30% or better chance of rain.

Took mine to dinner in the rain the other night.

Snapped this picture because you really don't realize how tiny these cars are..

This is what happened when you are too close to the car in front of you on a rolling start...

Gave her a nice bath this morning and then took her for a spirited run in the Malibu canyons.....a perfect day up there! Saw Jay Leno filming something just south of the Rock Store....he was sitting on the front bumper of a white RSR.

Went on a 75 mile coffee run to Surprise....100 degree's ambient and running at 75 mph cruise with spurts up to.....you know. Had to really push it to see 210 on the temp (930-10 '83 SC) put on the cooler fan and 195. (no AC btw, too heavy)

I'm overseas at the moment so I spent early am buying a few more bits to install on mine as part of getting maintenance current.

I have your red/cashmere colored 89 twin. Live in the shore. See you're in lb too. Need to get mine up to the canyons.

I see Leno up there almost every time I'm there. Usually early am. Super nice guy. Had the rs up there and he was in his cgt, we talked Porsche for a bit. He also did an episode of Jay Leno garage with my rs as the "wheel model" that was fun.

Took my wife and BOTH kidlets for a drive in the SC tonight. I had to bribe them with ice cream but it was worth it to be together.

until the kids started bickering. You realize how small the 911 interior is at that point. Not even enough room to turn around to adjust their attitude, either.

Just push the front seats all the way back and recline. That'll shut 'em up.

Actually, the "Dad voice" works well in such a small area.

Fourth of July Parade

Not today but yesterday, participated in the annual St. Marys, GA, Fourth of July parade and festival. Well, my son got to drive in the parade. I was busy manning our High School Marching Band Booster booth. Good day!

You are so right. I had mine in the garage were my wife's E320 usually sits to work on it. It took up about half the space.

Came back when it got hot (ac delete), took a nap, let the heat of the day pass....

My four year old watches the tach to make sure it "doesn't go to red" if it gets close he will start screaming at me to stop so I dont "blow out the engine!"

I have realized the kids get restless back there any time below 4k RPM, i get them quite at around 5.5k.

Works every time, we all come back with an ear to ear grin.

I cussed up a blue streak at the car today. I used the entire swear word dictionary and then made up some new ones.

There was one thing... ONE THING... standing in the way of finishing the a/c installation and that was removing the section of hose that connects from the rear decklid condenser up to the front condenser. Well that stupid flare fitting was hung on like a sum*****. I knew I had to be careful. I tried Kroil, Kroil and more Kroil. Then I tried a propane torch and an ice cube. Finally I got a helper and we tried with vice grips. No joy. That little **** hard line twisted instead of the fitting letting go.

New condenser on order.

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy car parts which is kind of the same thing.

Hey Don't feel too bad, it broke off on mine too when I did my ac ,......BUT now is your chance to upgrade....Kuehl has a serpentine front cond that is only slightly thicker than stock so it still fits inside the grating. Unlike the "desert" front cond that hangs too low and does get ripped up.
I might do that next.

Thanks... I have the Kuehl serpentine front condenser and it's installed. The end that twisted was on the rear decklid condenser. The only thing that was staying from the original system was the old decklid condenser... So I guess the car was trying to tell me she wanted it ALL to be new. Lol

It was just frustrating to be so close to being done with the work. I was hoping to pull a vacuum and start charging today.

Oh well, I need to re-index the rear torsion bars so I'll do that while I wait...

Switched out the OEM brake pads for Fedoro's . What a difference. Bedded them and ran 'em hard at a SCCA track night on Friday. Could push at least 100 feet deeper into the high speed corners and still had plenty of time to turn.
A little squeaky on the street when they're cold, but well worth it when up to temp.

The ducktail looks great but I REALLY dig the gray petals on your Fuchs. Just a little different than the other guy.
