911 front suspension struts

Good evening, I'm rebuilding a 1975 911, it is fitted with Boge struts with a 3" brake caliper spacing. I'm aiming to build an st replica and intend to upgrade the calipers to the Boxster (non S) version and retain 15" wheels. Are the later style struts with the 3.5" spacing a direct replacement? or do I need to undertake other modifications. Appreciate your feedback.

Yes, but as long as you are buying struts by 930 Bilsteins which come oe w/ HD inserts and 3.5" brake ears

Save your money and skip the Boxster brakes, in a 2000# car stock A or S/M or at most wide A/M are all you will need

rgruppey, I agree with Bill on this. You could even do what I did, which was to buy a used set of Bilstein struts with inserts from a fellow Pelican head, and sent them to Chuck at Elephant Racing. He raised and braced the spindles, added a steering knuckle braces and rebuilt/revalved the internals to match my new torsion bars.

The only brake upgrade I'm doing to my SC is going with later/wider Carrera calipers (again bought used from a Pelican) with brand new Carrera (Zimmerman) rotors.

To me, that was the best bang for the buck.

No need to upgrade the brakes. You will just be adding a lot of weight. I race on stock "S" calipers up front, and stock rears and never, ever, needed more brakes.
Save your money for proper ST flares.
