We replaced all the carpet with new Porsche silverknit after Michael at Promotive had finished making the floor boards. The drivers side he made completely custom to mate with the Tilton pedal box as it is adjustable where the passenger side is a reworked rennline unit.
I'll try and get onto Craig the previous owner and get his input on the door cards but he hasn't been answering email lately so might take while. Cheers Al

That is a Bada$$ looking car! Other than addressing the ladder/paint issue you mention, I see no point in changing anything else. That thing is HOT! I like the impact bumpers with the duck tail. Keeps some of its originality yet has enough changes to intrigue one into further investigating the uniqueness of it.
Don't get me wrong the Iroc bumpers are sweet but if you decided to stop now it will still be a hot car. |

Beautiful car, congratulations!
Do you have any more details / pictures of the cable to hydraulic clutch conversion? Thanks in advance, Ben. |

Hi Ben, no other pictures that I have, I'll ask Michael my engineer if he can detail what he did and if he has any more photos as he took the majority of them for me during the upgrades.
Cheers Al

That would be great! I'd love to see how he managed the conversion. If the pedal box is anything to go by then I'll bet it's well executed.
TIA, Ben. |

Thanks, we're just getting started on collecting the parts for the new suspension and brake upgrades / replacement. Hoping most of it will be here so we can get started around the end of November on it.
Cheers Al

This post will detail the next round of upgrades / work on the car that are almost complete. I will post pics once I get the car back, just waiting on the Zuffenhaus brakes and then we can finish this round of work.
The to do list, that by now is mostly done. Suspension
I'm sure there's a tonne I've missed so I'll add any detail as it comes to hand. Other odds n sods Radio Delete: Delete radio, door speakers and associated wiring. Make radio delete plate in black anodised with engraved PORSCHE script. Michael will be CNC machining this and anodising it in black. The pic below is from a user on Pelican who was nice enough to send me the dimensions and cnc drawings. The bottom plate was anodised black first then engraved but I will be going for all black that is engraved before anodising. ![]() Fabricate new door cards in leather with no speaker hole: Same full length ridged design as pictures on previous post. These are the finished item and were fabricated by Lee Brothers for me here in Brisbane.
Pic of some of the bead blasted suspension. ![]() That's about it for now but there is bound to be more that comes up as the job progresses. I'll post pics as soon as I have them. Cheers Al

So now we're just waiting on final pricing and availability of the Zuffenhaus RSR replicas as the supplier is in LeMans for the race week / month and it's hard to get hold of Twinspark (distributor were using to source them) when they're at the track.
They look bloody fantastic and reports are they stop just as well so hopefully it's worth the extra wait, although at least I still have my wife Marti's 997 beast to blat around in now and again while I wait for mine back, even if it is a water pumper. Pics of the brakes for clicks, these should look wicked peeking out from behind the 8" and 10" refurbished Fuchs reps. These are promo shots gathered from around the net but the same as what we'll be using on mine. ![]() ![]() ![]() As soon as I have any more details and images from Michael I'll post them up, hopefully not long now but I've learned just to let him do his thing and he'll let me know when it's ready to pick up ![]() I've saved for ages for all of this so I'm really hanging out to see the finished project. Cheers Al

Some work to the fan while we wait for the brakes to arrive.
Wet blasting and cad plating the centre. ![]() Hopefully not long for the Zuffenhaus brakes to arrive from Twinspark and we can get them installed and button up this suspension and brake upgrade and finally get it back on the road for a bit of fun. Cheers Al

The Zuffenhaus brakes have arrived from Twinspark Racing in the UK but all I got was a pic of this lousy box
![]() Michael my engineer is being a right bugger and not sending me any pics of them other than this tease picture and then saying "I might send a photo through when I open the box. Or then again I might not" LOL ![]() Anyway they are here and for those waiting for their spot in the queue to get into Michael's shop it shouldn't be long now. Oh wait!! we have an update, 8 hours later another pic has come through and I've been told I get a pic of a calliper, one a day he said LOL ![]() ![]() Cheers Al

The fan looks awesome! How do you remove the "hub" from the fan for plating - do you just dill out those rivets? Will you be replacing with the same style of rivet or just a nut and countersunk bolt? Thanks!

Edit: Ferrino, he said he drilled them out on the mill. Then he will put in new rivets to replace the old but you need a special rivet squeezer tool. The pic below is of the replacement rivet. ![]() Cheers Al

This is getting painful, but here is the latest pic I just received. He really is stretching the friendship teasing me like this.
Waiting on the rotors which should be with the supplier in Oz next week. We decided to source them here to save a bit on shipping the rotors over from the UK as they are so heavy. ![]() Have a great weekend everyone, off to Cars n Coffee in Brisbane tomorrow morning in the wife's water pumper 997, least I don't have to walk. ![]() Cheers Al

Sneak peak of some of the work around the rear of the car, brakes, shocks, a bit of tidy up of paint under the car and we took the fuel tank out and resprayed it as well. Apologies for the quality they were taken quickly on a phone by my engineer who is being very sneaky about what he sends me until I can see it in person.
Detailed pics of all the upgrades coming soon, hoping to pick it up this week sometime. ![]() ![]() ![]()
