A few more from Michael at Promotive arrived in my inbox today. The front hats we've been waiting on from Zuffenhaus arrived in Australia today so we should be able to button it all up by the end of this week in time for the local Cars and Coffee this Saturday.

Just a few random shots

Looking good.

So what's the grand plan for the engine?

quozl 07-27-2014 07:55 PM

Engine only has just on 20,000 kilometres on it since it was last done so it will be the last thing, probably a 3.6 upgrade.

Cheers Al

Bill Douglas 07-27-2014 07:57 PM

Maybe a set of SSIs and just leave it alone for a while?

quozl 07-27-2014 08:31 PM

Maybe, I want to do the IROC bumpers, front oil cooler& lines, rear exhaust and headers and respray it before I even think about touching the engine.

Once that's out of the way I'll do a bit of saving and then sit down and go over the plans for the engine with Michael at Promotive, but yes SSI's are on the cards at some stage.

Few pics came through from Michael @ Promotive, were almost at the end of this stage of the upgrades to the suspension and brakes. Should have the car back soooooooooooooooooooooooooooonish :)

Bespoke RSR rear swaybar and mounts

Note the curve on the swaybar rear arms. The other brands arms always hit the road when adjusted on the inner holes. With this bespoke bar and arms from Promotive this is no longer an issue.

Custom splined swaybars not the big ugly squares like most others

Finally back on the road, but still waiting on some new TB 15 tyres from the UK to show up.

Luckily I was able to get it out to Cars and Coffee last Saturday for a couple of hours.

When we get the car back on the hoist to put on the new tyres I'll get some pics taken of the suspension and brake work in place.

Cal was able to take a few shots that turned out ok :)

What's wrong with the current TB's? Going with another size, or are those worn out? It looks fantastic.

quozl 09-10-2014 04:25 PM

Worn out and going with a different size, 215 front 270 rear.

The car is looking REALLY good. Well done.

Thanks Bill,

I saw a great video on YouTube about a guy over your way called Wayne Graves and his Raspberry Rocket as he calls it as well as a few other cars he looks after and owns.

Thought you might enjoy it. Will have to try and make it over there one year, bring the car and let you show me some of the better roads.

I've recorded a video with this car if you want to take a deeper look. It's such a nice build, still gets a lot of comments for being so well sorted:

Yes that's my old car that I sold just over 5 years ago. I had the majority of the modifications done to it by Michael Harris from Promotive Engineering here in Brisbane other than the widebody kit which was done by the previous owner to me who was a mate of mine who relocated to NZ and sold the car to me just before he left. I sold it to another mate who had a car yard and a number of other Porsche's when we were buying our first home to pay for the deposit who then on sold it within a few weeks to someone else which I'm assuming is you?

I still have most of the build photos and documentation if the new owner would like them just contact me and I'll zip up everythign I have and send it through.

The car was originally built in Melbourne by Duttons for a client who then onsold it to my mate in Sydney who put the steel widebody kit on it and who I then bought it from.

Cheers

Edit, having just watched your video a correction for you I put the pedal box in it because I'm a short arse and hated how far foward I had to have the seat for a proper driving position so had Michael put in the box and we just decided to change the clutch to hydraulic because it was a no brainer to do at the same time.

Hi there - had a couple of questions about your suspension setup and the brakes setup.

What rear trailing arms did you use? And were spacers needed such that the Fuchs cleared the Zuffenhaus rear brake callipers? Or was it just to fill the rear arches?
