The best thing to do is to search about this topic, using the search button at the top of the page. There has been a great deal of discussion about how to start cars that have been sitting for 12 years, such as yours. You will find neat lists of the steps to be taken, thoughtfully presented.

I took my time and did a lot before I even turned the key. Then once I got to the point of turning the key, I only had a couple things to address and on the road I went. It has been running great for me. I just recently snapped the old clutch cable, which I knew was inevitable and planned on rebuilding the pedal cluster and new cable this winter. Hugh, Put where you are from in your info. Looking forward to watching the restoration.
