Adjusting valve question, again

I hear most people use a feeler gauge to do valve adjustments.
I also know there is a P-207 tool and a dial indicator that can be used.
Since I have only once done a valve adjustment on a VW in the '80s, I don't want to make any expensive booboos, and would like to do this with the best possible tool.
Thanks
OBTW this is on a '76 911 2.7 motor.

The tool I used, purchased from Pelican, is PEL-TOL-P213. I would strongly suggest purchasing extra shims because the first time I tried I bent several.

There is a tech article on this site that best outlines the procedure in detail:
Pelican Technical Article: Valve Adjustment - 911 (1965-89) - 930 Turbo (1975-89)

Although in theory this is no different than a valve adjusment on a VW it is quite a bit more tedious the first time as there is little space to work in. I'd allow yourself plenty of time and at least a whole weekend for your first adjustment. The next time it will go much much quicker, on the order of a few hours.

I like using a dial indicator but it can be difficult with ac,turbos smog ect. I like to do a partial engine drop remove ac comp, valve covers and use a dial indicator but... I have a lift. It's by far the best way to get consistent results.
