Intake port spacing

I have an odd question for the pelican brain trust.

What is the intake port spacing on a water cooled 911/boxster engine compared to an air cooled engine.

ie. with proper adapters could a water cooler intake manifold be used on an air cooled engine

I would like to use a 964/993 intake on my 3.2 - but curious as to water cooled piece.

thanks for any light that can be shed on this dim witted idea

Brad

Intake info.

The intake spacing is the same fore to aft for a 964 or 993 or 997 intake. If you are wanting to put this on a 3.2 the 964 black plastic works the best. The GT 3 later model intake has too large internal volume for a 3.2. Attached is a picture of a 3.0 engine with individual throttle bodies. Special "Y" intake pipe required. The air filter crossover pipe can be reversed to face forward if you don't have a engine lid or tail to accommodate the filter.

rsscotty - that is exactly what I was looking for. That is cool.

Second question - GT3 intake is to large, how about a standard 996 or boxster intake ( volume wise )

The Boxster intake is the same shape as the cyl. head intake port, like an oval. It would not adapt well, unlike the round base of the 964 intake or the GT3 intake.

Here is a picture of a carbon GT3 intake we did.
