New Forums...
Okay, I think that I've managed to find a compromise - sub-forums within forums.
The 964/993 forum is a bit slow, so adding it under this one can't hurt. In addition, I want to have an engine rebuilding forum that will work in conjunction with the release of the new book. You guys also suggested a 911 Turbo forum - I expanded it to include supercharging as well... Let me know what you think. Feel free to bash this new plan, or to simply try it out. This seems like a compromise on my previous plan to create several top level forums. I actually didn't know I could build in sub-forums like these. Let me know what you think (silly me, I know you certainly will!) ![]() -Wayne

I like the idea, but I don't like tha fact that they take up the top portion of the main 911 tech board. Would like them better at the bottom...just my opinion.

Hmmm, I changed my mind a bit on this. I moved the posts back to the main forum, and I'm going to leave the 964 one up there for a while...

It was getting a little crowed and I had to scroll down half a page before getting to the first topic.
How about a forum specifically for questions and answers that deal specifically with the text of the 101 Projects for Your Porsche and the upcoming Engine Book? This will allow newcomers and existing members to have constant infor to updates, or additions to the books. It may also be useful for typos, but I doubt they exist.

I thought when this was discussed some months ago the majority said 'leave it alone....' Personally, I do not care who is currently online or about sub-forums of forums. How about being a personal setting or preference so the first page can go back to being 911 Technical Topics?????

Thanks for getting rid of those top 2 forums from earlier today. Now if only something can be done about the remaining one...
I agree with the others in that I didn't like having to scroll down to posts.

I like the new forums myself. I'm probably going to draw fire here but here goes anyway. The 1 issue I have is that the posts that go in here are often unrelated to tech info. They're' random questions and comments from every angle about porsche and sometimes not even porscherelated. Now before anyone gets cranked up, I'm not saying that they are important or worthy of being posted just that I'd like to see these type posts go to a different forum area that deals with more of the off topic issue and keep the posts for engine stuff in the engine area, general tech stuff in tech area, and general chat stuff to a general chat area. I think it would be easy to browse and see what's up and find things.
Okay guys fire away. Dan O |

I like the idea of the new forums as well -- but do echo the others in finding it annoying to have to scroll down the page so far to get to the threads.
