Turbo Performance Center in Jessup, MD - Reputation?
Hi Folks,
I'm trying to purchase an item for a friend in Germany from this company. I have gone thru a lost check sent for a purchase, and now a refusal to accept a credit card after a lengthy faxed authtorization was provided because "you may want to cancel the charges after we ship the item and there are no returns on parts". This is right from the owner's mouth, Mike Levitas. I've actually met this guy once or twice at the track, but apparently he doesn't remember me (at least not fondly! :-0 ) Does this sound crazy to anyone else? What sort of experiences have any of you had with this group? Chris |

Chris - Sure sounds crazy to me. BTW, I'm in Northern Virginia and I've never heard of this place.

I too, am from NoVa, but unlike the last respondent, I do know Mike. He apparently runs a very reputable shop (his efforts have been highlighted in Excellence and whatever the old VW-Porsche became), and is currently campaigning in GARRRRA (or whatever). Mike has worked very hard to develop his business, and I'd be very surprised if he were involved in anything ulterior. As always, caveat emptor.

Mike is very well known around here in PCA and club racing. I don not think he would screw around. Reputations are easy to lose and hard to make great. Sounds like he has been burned before. There is not a lot of margin on parts so that could be the reason.
HI Don Newton! You come here too? Best
