Question on heater blower, engine bay and foot area

Hi guys,
My problem is that all 3 blowers never turn on. I tried to give each of them 12v from batery and all are working fine, so my assumption is the relay or the circuit that is feeding it.
Tonight, I took the relay off and measureed all the terminals of the socket and found that voltages at all terminals were correct base on the list below. I also tested the wires between terminal 5 & 6 to the plug at the main blower. Wire was good (1 wire is connected to both 5 & 6. 1 is ground). Plug the relay in, blowers still does not work. Measure voltage at the plug, there is no voltage.
I did turn the key on and lift the red levers.
So do you guy think the problem is the relay? Is there anyway I can measure/test the relay?

Note: base on the image below, my car doesn't have the black round relay "A". but again, all terminal measure with correct voltages.

Below image and list are from Imacather posted above.

Terminal 12 - Hot from Front Fuse Panel "key on"
Terminal 7 & 8 - Hot from Fuse 2 (Rear Panel)
Terminal 3 - Hot from Fuse 1 (Rear Panel)
Terminals 5 & 6 - Output to Main Blower
Terminals 4 - Output to Heat Controller (the dreaded Footwell link)
Terminal 2 - Ground

Hey Ron,

It may be the two levers in between the e-brake handle. They are connected by yellow wires, it the contacts are distorted or full of debris it will not make contact and not close the circuit.

Take a look to see if you raise the levers if the copper contacts touch.

Jim

On the red levers, no matter if I lift them or not, Terminals 5 & 6 - Output to Main Blower still get 12v. If terminal 5 & 6 are getting 12v, does it matter what the levers do?
umm... make no sense huh. The levers have to do some affect to the blower. I have to check on them.

Levers control the engine blower and foot blowers.

12 volts is always at the engine blower the reed switch activates the motor via the lever switches of the foot blowers.

I'll come over and show you

Thank you for the wiring diagram. I'm looking for a simplified diagram (although I am a EE) just can't follow that wiring diagram. My problem, is similar, the rear blower goes on when I pull either red lever (87 911 Carerra) but the footwell blowers work sometimes. When they kick on: the blower motors are running, left side and right side responding to their levers, and the speed control works. Then suddenly nothing, but the engine blower is on. I'm looking for that magical wire or place that I should start running my VOM to figure out where the issue is.

Sorry, the wiring diagram is just too confusing for me. Thanks, dw

the diagram above should confuse to a point I think it is called a flow chart ...

If you are an EE just look again .. think of the chart as if it were pipes and water had to flow .. I know EE's dont do that but try .. the switches stop or interrupt the flow ... goto ...

Trust me ... 86911targa may be able to help out a bit more .. he is a very smart man .. ask your specific question and we may be able to help .....

Steve

I think your issue is a fault in your footwell blowers ....
