Help reinserting tach

Hello All

I have replaced my tach, but am finding it difficult (impossible even), to get the new one back in the hole. It seems whatever I do the rubber seal never goes in cleanly, but either sort of jams/folds over on itself/folds over the bezel of the tach.

Any ideas? Silicon lubricant?

Thanks

Dave

I've used vaseline and/or a bit of WD-40

Vaseline did the trick. I can't believe I struggled for so long!

Thanks.

I find those rubber rings to be WAY overkill, so I cut them down to 1/2 their width to make insertion/removal easier. And still use a little vaseline, but it kinda makes a mess and needs to be cleaned afterwards.
