Lloyd mats?

I'm in the market for a new set of mats and lean towards carpet rather than coco. I'm curious if anyone can comment on the Lloyd mats. I've heard the plush is really thick so I'll go for the regular weight. I'm curious about what they use for backing and if the clip system they have work. Tired of my old driver's side mat ending up sideways when I exit the car.

Thanks!

I have them in my SRX and the 911. High quality products. Very happy with them!

I'm reading old posts and some have said the heavier weight is better. I have no carpet in the floor pans now. PO must have ditched so I'm thinking the thicker version mat might help keep them in place.

I have the Berber style in the SRX. The heavyweight product in the Porsche. Quality products!

My 86 came with a set when I bought it. I have no idea if they are heavy or light weight. I would guess light weight. I have them set over the original mats. The clip system works well as far as I'm concerned. Nylon strap threads through and hooks to the back of the seat mount base. This is then connected to buckles sewn to the bottom of the mat. They are adjustable and can be snugged tight to the seats so they don't slide forward. -J

My suggestion would be go with the heavier weight (plush) pile. I have the regular style in two cars (911 & S4) and my experience is that my heal has worn the pile a little faster than I would have liked (and expected). Neither cars are daily drivers so it's not like I am commuting every day and wearing them out. Just my experience...

I too have been debating this floor mat issue. My targa just has loose mats on a steel floor. Of course this makes for the mats slipping all over the place. Do the Lloyd's mats have a rubber or plastic backing, something to stiffen the mat so it wants to stay in place?
Any other suggestions for mats that will stay in place on a steel floor and hold a bit of moisture ans sand from getting under the mats? Also needs to be comfortable for bare foot driving.

I was leaning toward Coco mats but they are heavy and I think not too comfortable for bare footing. Still open to ideas.

Cheers Richard

I have ém in my 911. The car doesn't see much use, so I have no personal experience in wear for a daily driven car. I have actually been contemplating the Coco mats because of the look. They have more personality than the Lloyd's do, I think.

The...back...of the seat base? This would explain why mine always slide forward out of the tubes. I can be such a jackass sometimes.

Anyway, I have the standard plush "Ultimat's" from Lloyds. I do have carpet underneath the mats. I find this to be plenty thick. IMO, with carpet underneath there is no need for a higher pile material. I only have around 4500 miles on these, so I can't speak to the amount of wear and tear. Mine still look new...because they really are.

Here's what holds mine in place.
Works well.
I don't advocate driving barefooted, but these would be a lot nicer than coco's on bare feet.

+1 Best mats ever !!! only draw back is that the Monogramming gets dirty easy !!! Next pair will have dark monogramming
Thick padding helps with sound levels !!
