Front bushing refresh
Well got started on the suspension refresh today having gone as far as I could with the strip out of the old interior. Got the car jacked up removed the skid plate and unbolted the left A arm. Had tried to remove the ball joint as well while insitu but it would not budge. So I stripped out the arm with ball joint attached, replaced the sway bar bushings and got the arm into the vice. Bit of heat on the old bushing and they slipped right off. I soaked the ball joint for a while with penetrating fluid had some lunch and went back at it. I tapped around the castellated nut and voila after not too much struggle it came loose. Popped the new ball joint on along with the new bushings and bolted it all back together. Next I replaced the shock absorber lowered the car and set ride height. Hopefully tomorrow attack the right side, but going to get 3M adhesive so may start installing the carpet instead so many projects on the go at the same time.....

Good job. I take it you are going to lower the rear as well to 'match'? Otherwise, your corner balance could be too front heavy.

Like Rich26 says...very gratifying when done. I did my 86 as well. Full interior rip out, roll bar, racing seats, lightened, front Elephant Racing bushings, monoballs, rear bushes, bigger t-bars etc, etc. Car had wicked handling after all that. You'll love the finished product.

Well did not get the other side bushings done yet just changed out the shock. Today was mostly spent installing the rear carpets and seats all looking good. Need to get the front seats out and to the shop to get the covers redone.
