Upgrading my sound system - 1999 996 cabriolet
Hello every one.
This is my first post here but I hope to get your help. I am upgrading the sound system in my 1999 996 cabriolet . The car originally came with standard sound system (not the Bose premium) which as all know - sounds very bad. I wanted to upgrade the quality but on the same time stay close to he original so I decided to upgrade the system to original Bose which came as an option in this model and sounds good. I have found used set of Bose speakers (all 6 speakers and the original separate sub) and an analog Bose amplifier (not MOSFET). Every thing is ready to be installed into their original place with the original wiring. The only thing I am missing now is the connectors which connects into the amplifier as my original connectors for the existing Nokia amplifier do not match the Bose amplifier . I would appreciate any kind of help regarding the question when can I purchase the connectors for the Bose amplifier or if I need to buy the entire harness which agin I need the part no and description. Last remark - I even don't know which used harness should I ask for in order to get only the connectors for the Bose amplifier from a salvaged car. Thank you all in advance for your help. |

You might want to check over at the 996 forum. IMO, check any of the Porsche wrecking yards (Parts Heaven, 20th St. Auto, etc...), and ask some questions. I'm sure they will be able to guide you in the right direction.
