What is this connector go to?
I replaced my front hood shocks and on the driver's side found this two wire with plastic plug just laying there. The wire runs under the gas tank fill tube and I could not really trace it as it gets kind of tight under there and the fuse box.
Anyone know what it might be?

I am wondering if this is related to something after market. There is a K-40 (but it works fine) and there was one of those old early 90s hard mounted cell phones. The wires for the cell phone ran on the passenger side and were mounted above the smugglers box.
This one has me stumped.

Thanks Plumb. It gets so tight under the fuel filler pipe that I cannot tell where it goes and I did not want to pull too hard on it.
It has a brown wire and a yellow and white (the camera kind of washed it out). My fuel gauge has no lights to it (all the other gauges do) and I was wondering if that plugged into the back of the gauge to power the lights?

Possibly for the high intensity w/s washer reservoir fluid pump. It was an option and there was a second W/S washer reservoir that sits right in that area and you fill it with pure W/S washer concentrate.

@Marc - do you think it is just for my main washer? I have never taken a a reservoir out of there that I can remember. Definitely will not reach the gauge (and I see a bulb is not in the slot so that solves that).

No, if it is what I think, it's not a common option. To see if your car had/has the option, M286, you can check the option codes, or look at the hoses going to the W/S washer nozzles, if there are double hoses to the nozzles, then the car had the option. Stock is two hoses and one check valve on the drivers side and one hose one ck valve on the passenger side. The stock harness already has the plug and wiring just in case the car is ordered with that option.

Factory CKT.
Here's the factory circuit for the '86 which should be close to your M/Y.
![]() ![]() The only GE/WS-BR wire I could find is assigned to the fog lights. Have a look at the bottom of all the fuses, and check for the color coded wire that matches up with the "mystery" wire. pm me as needed. Good luck, Gerry

I think Marc has it, unless I am reading the colors wrong in the diagram. The brown wire is solid and the other is yellow and white (in my car) and the "Additional Cleaning Fluid Pump" has those colored wires.

Look on the other side of the trunk in roughly the same area. Do you find an identical connector with brown and black wires? I have that as well as the yellow/white and brown one on the left side. I think they are related because the wire sizes and connectors are identical.
