Used, from a salvage.
Post a WTB ad in the classifieds. Paint a black one. Install a black one and don't worry about the color. JR |

I got one from a dealership two years ago...Pelican was showing them as NLA...I have gotten stuff from Suncoast Porsche in Sarasota, FL that shows NLA in the after-market providers as well as some dealers. Think they have an in...

![]() WTB red heater knob for '88 Carrera A bit of advice from previous experience. Be careful when you go to push the new knob back on. I broke my lever by pushing too hard trying to get the new knob on and was so pissed I couldn't look at it for weeks. A new complete control unit was something like $500+ on pelican. I finally did some thinking and concluded: 1. Lever could be broken at point where it hinges behind the panel = I'm majorly screwed ![]() Gotta find a replacement unit or fix hinge in lever.2. Pin broken off bottom of lever that slides in slot & keeps lever moving back and forth = Less screwed, maybe I can remove control unit and replace pin in lever. Still major work! ![]() 3. Pin on lever has jumped out of slot that keeps it moving back & forth = Slightly screwed if I can get it back into the slot. ![]() Since it was nearly impossible to see up under the dash I went and got one of those inspection cameras to check my possibilities. Turned out the pin had jumped out of the slot. After a bit of careful wiggling and pulling on the lever, it jumped back into place! Boy, was I relieved! ![]() Moral: be careful what you're pushing on in a 26 year old car, and an inspection camera can be your best friend.
