Help needed on 3.2 pistons/copression ratios
Hi all,
On the Porsche parts list, it is not stated which pistons are EURO version, 231bhp, USA version, 217 bhp, etc. Can anyone help on this? I am about to buy a set of used cylinders and pistons from a 3.2 and would need some guidance to spot the 10.3:1 CR version. One of the sellers provided me the reference PGC 503 569 2 Is this a Mahle part number? Is there a correspondence table to cross it with Porscheparts number? Thanks

In the Porsche parts list it shows the engine type. The euro type numbers are 930.20 and 930.26. The lower compression 3.2 is 930.25 and 930.21. You will see the engine type numbers listed on the right of the description list.
(PPKat.com :: For Porsche) Part numbers for the different P&Cs: 930.103.989.0X 930.20 and 930.26 930.103.990.0X 930.25 and 930.103.991.0X 930.25 Not sure why they list 2 numbers for the US model (930/25). Maybe 930.103.991.0X is for Alusil? Note that the "X" in the part number is a number from 1 to 4 which specifies the weight range of the piston.

Both of the pistons carry the same inside piston number 95P36++
There is a definite difference when compared together in the swirl height of the 10.3 piston. Bruce |
