Fuchs re-sized?

I read a while back in Excellence about a guy building an RS replica who had his Fuchs re-sized wider (i think they create a modular wheel from a standard, removing the rim)
Does anyone recall if this can and/or is being done?
Thanks,
Matt

There are several options, what are you trying to end up with? 15,16,17 inch? All fuchs metal? 3 piece? Welded?

I'd like to make a 16" a 17" and wider, with correct offset. I was looking for a machinist that can take my wheels and make them what i want, not something they have off the shelf. Any ideas of who to call are appreciated
Thanks

Lindsey racing makes 17" Fuchs from 6"x16" cores I believe.

Very common. Lots of people running around on 17" Fuchs, super-wide Fuchs...Search for Tru-Design, Lindsey, Rota, Euromeister...They're all a bit different in price and construction, some requiring Fuchs "cores".

There is a thread somewhere that does a very comprehensive comparison.

If you want welded 17" wheels the options are few and mentioned above. If you want 3 piece wheels, i like the ones TRE puts out. Rebel Racing offers as well. Jongbloed has offered this service in the past but i think they have come out with their own 3 piece wheel recently. I am leaving someone out i am sure.

Post pics when they are done!

HRE - the only game in Fuchsville. They did a pair of 17" x 10" alloys for me a number of years ago; fantastic product.

Jim Lyon did my rear 6 1/2x16's on my 912 POLO car. He has done a number of 17's.
