O2 Sensor light
I recently aquired the 1984 sales brochure for my Carrera and noticed that in all of the interior shots, the dash has an O2 sensor light just above the Tach. In my car, I can feel the cut out under the vinyl covering and wonder......
Should there be one or was this a carryover from the SC that was no longer used? I also noticed that they carried over the engine bay picture from the '83 brochure as the engine pictured is definately a 3.0 not the 3.2, but I digress. Anyone care to comment? ![]() ------------------ Josh Black on Black '84 Carrera |

I can tell you that the O2 Sensor light is nearly useless. It simply comes on every "X" miles. I believe X=30,000 or so. Then you remove the clock and push a button to reset the light. On my car at least. The whole system is deactivated on my car because the mileage counter was making a clicking noise and I don't need a light to remind me to make sure my engine is running properly. I don't ignore that question for 30,000 miles at a time. The light is for another kind of driver.
Same with those shift lights. Glad I did not have to deactivate that too. ------------------ '83 SC |
