Ian on my iPhone so it's hard to get a close up view of the photos but to me it looks like the piston is not pushed all the way in

I take it those are SC calipers and from the picture looks like fronts. It almost looks like whoever you got the rebuild calipers from used the spacer in between the two halves from the rear calipers which are thinner. Plus those pads look a lot beefier than the pads that went in on my SC fronts.

The pistons are in all the way. I think I received "s" caliper pads instead of "a" caliper pads.

probably wrong year pads for the calipers or rotors, different series (midyear, SC, Carrera, etc) had different rotor thicknesses, if you are stuck you could sand 1/16" off each pad to make them fit...

That was it. The pads that I purchased are 13.5mm thick should be 10mm.

I thought they look thick. Because on my SC, I was able to get pads in with the vibration pads on the back and still have wiggle room.

Whatever you do, know that the pads are too thick and not right so please refrain from jamming them or forcing them in there. I had the same problem with an old VW bus I had and jammed them in. Know what? It would not move even when the pedal was pegged to the floor. Something is amiss so get the right pads before you try to make it work. A simple mix-up at the rebuilders or somewhere.
