2002 911 Won't Lock with key POD
My 2002, 911 all of a sudden after two years of driving will not let me lock the doors using the auto lock on the key. I have to use the key in the door to lock and unlock. Not only is it a pain, but when I open it up with the key, the alarm system is programmed to go off if I don't start the car within 10 seconds. After starting the car, the locks automatically lock both doors, as indicated by the small red light on the lock button on the dash. Does anyone have an idea as to what the problem may be and how to fix it. I know the battery within the key is good - so it's not the key. I've also disconnected the battery hoping that may "re trigger" the correct locking and unlock mode, but that hasn't worked either.

We roll Flinstone rides......likely a fob battery issue. Check with the newer car forums or your owner's manual.
