Need a lead for front hub work

The outer races in my front hubs are no longer a press fit, as a matter fact, they are a loose fit. In doing my search, others have mentioned the bearing surface can be machined and a sleeve fitted. Can anyone suggest a reputable shop or person who has experience with this job and as always, is reasonable. Thanks

Good used hubs should be easy to find.

It might be possible to machine them, either sleeve or install outer races with a larger OD. However, I would be leery of reducing material in the hub by any amount, especially if you take your car on the track. As John suggests, good used hubs are likely a better option, and I would strongly encourage you to have them checked by a company that does materials testing before you install.

I had exactly this situation happen to me a couple months ago. 944 Ecology was able to supply me with a good used hub for my own 944S that I used until Racers Edge had a new run of their billet hubs available. Expensive but cheaper than the consequences of a failure! Apologies, I don't know who makes such a thing for 911 series cars. Good luck, stay safe,
