I have a 1981 911SC European version. I've converted the 3.0 to a 3.2 short stroke making just under 300 hp. The auxiliary oil cooler is what the shop manual calls the "Finned auxiliary oil cooler". I haven't found any "fins" yet...looks like 20-odd brass pipes to me. On track days I am running hot after 15 minutes and this includes removing the right head light, and drilling a bunch of one inch holes to force air on to the 20-odd brass pipes. My question is whether anyone has had a similar configuration and upgraded the 20-odd brass pipe auxiliary cooler to the Carerra auxiliary cooler?
Would it make a material difference in oil temperature or am I stuck with going to a central cooler and all the body modifications required...? |

no the old brass tube is a lot less efficient than a carrera cooler with a fan, the same one you would find on the carrera. i would go with that one

and maybe update the hardlines with ER's finned lines, I broke my supply line and opted for the finned hard lines, great craftsmanship OEM fit
