1975 porsche antenna

I am sorry about so many questions.

the po told me that when the radio was turned on. that the antenna would raise.
I have searched the owners manual for a fuse relating to that. I am pretty sure this
is a factory radio and antenna. any thoughts on where I should start?

I am learning and very much appreciate your help

That's what I always heard too. I installed an auto antenna on my drivers side though.

Just try pulling up on it. If it pulls up it is not auto.

My 84 has an auto antenna on the passenger side.

Based on all this data, it seems the OP should have a manual antenna.

should be a trigger wire from the radio that powers the antenna, check to see its there and gets power when the radio is turned on. Also, check to see that the antenna is a power unit, look in fender well

I will do some more checking. like I said. the previous owner stated as soon as the radio was turned on. the antenna would go up automatically. so I need to do some looking for a wire
thanks for the advice maybe it was an add on. but I was looking for a fuse. it seems like porsche likes to tuck things away. hard to reach areas on these small cars

I was told tonight that this is a manual antenna. supposably there is a slot right in the top that takes a key of sorts to get it out. I just wonder why the previous owner said when the car gets started. or key in on position and radio on. the antenna would raise. he must have forgot by it being parked for so long. are these keys available? or was I told a wise tale

The Keys are available on e-bay and other places. Search for Hirschmann antennae key.
Now you know why I asked you what side your antenna was on. Drivers side normally is a manual antenna.
If you have a small screwdriver or a dime, stick it in the slot and using it like a prybar, wedge it in the slot and lift. Antenna will probably come up.

According to my restoration guide, "automatic rising antennas were available beginning with the 1976 Turbos and then became standard with the 1983 SC."
