HELP; Need Paint Formula!!

Greetings All,

It's time to restore another early car. This one was painted red at some point. Of course, I'll return it to original. It's a '70 911T Coupe. The original color is Burgundy. Does anyone know where I can get the paint formula?? Any help would be appreciated!

i would think any automotive paint store could help, different manufactures would have different formulas for there colors

It's not likely that a formula exists in the modern paints that are available today. Your paint rep could contact the manufacturer and see if they have the original and if there is a cross match on the books. It's more likely that you'll have to mix to match a sample.
Give Don at Rays Paint in North Hollywood a call and tell him what you're looking for. He's found a couple hard to find colors for me.

Get the paint code via a certificate of authenticity from PCA....in CA, no way will you get the original formula but it can be close.....you MAY be able to get it in Mexico or other states.....the 914 guys have connects down south of the border.

I can drive to my Glasurit jobber in Akron and he can mix up 22 line which would be really close to the original 21 line. They had to remove the lead I think.

However, even if I shipped it to you in a box labeled "dog food" and it got through to you, I don't think a shop in CA would paint with it given CA environmental regs.

BURGUNDERROT - only one "D"

You will find the paint code which is 2424. If there is a mix formula I can't find it.

According to the Glasurit web site, this mix is for Porsche 2424 "Burgunderrot", Glasurit22, 2 litres. The code was generated from the Color-Online web page. Formulas can also be created for Glasurit90, if needed. Hope it helps... make sure you verify this info with your Glasurit rep.

Glasurit has a "Classic" line and you should be able to get it through them "No Problem"
