My dad used them maybe 10 years or so ago for his '74 dash. Came back and fit perfectly. Seems like it was around $500.

I called a few weeks back and asked about recovering a 1970 dash with a few standard cracks and straight. They told me $1200 S/H.
That's too much for my blood.

Yep, quoted me $1200 for black vinyl. That's when I decided to do it myself for about $80...

Damn Dennis, you've inspired me, I'm going Leather to match my newly covered seats from the same vendor AutoBerry.

I saw a Euro recently with a leather package and it appears the indented portion is stitched, was yours stitched as well before you removed it?

If you opt for just replacing the dash, try Einmalig, LLC at Huntington Beach, CA. I got a used but fresh OEM dash for my 86 at $400 + 60.00 shipping to NJ. They do have an inventory of parts tons of them (whole warehouse) inclduing dashes from 356s to 993s. Maybe you can give them a call and ask for pricing. Just search thru the web on their contact number. I was fortunate enough to visit Einmalig during my LA visit last week and here is the picture of my dash that I bought from them.

$400 for a good used dash is a decent price. I've heard Einmalig is a bit spendy on their prices. I got a dash ('69) recovered 10+ years ago by Just Dashes. At the time, the cost was $600 + shipping. I waited about 6 months to get it back. I called several times and was told they were waiting for a number of dashes similar to mine to come in to make a run of them. After 6 months, I called & raised hell. After that my dash arrived in about 2 weeks. The quality was great though.

The dash that is pictured in this thread that is in 2.pieces came out of a 73 911E we are working on. He was able to save the dash and recover it. Great craftmanship. I drove from bakersfield to bring the dash to him. I saw that other dash place which is a few feet from his shop. I rather deal with some who strictly works on pcars.

Recovered dash

I just sent a dash out to AIR Motorsport in Van Nuys (AIR MotorSports | Automotive Innovations and Restoration | autoinno | Los Angeles Porsche Body Paint and Restoration) , they quoted me 595 for upholstering in marine blue Vinyl. It has been gone now for close to two weeks. The pictures of their work look great. I think just dashes does the vinyl suck down without seams, supposedly very nice, but I heard same thing about pricing >$1000 and long wait times.
I have an additional reupholstered blue dash with long vent, it is upholstered in vinyl?(can't tell for sure, might be leather). It may be for sale depending how the upholstery job from AIR Motorsports looks.....PM me if anybody is interested

Try Classic 9, Robert Budd does great work, is reasonably priced and won't take nearly 6 months to get it back to you.

Draco,
No stitching on my dash.
There's a thread on here where a member did his in one piece leather. Probably what inspired me to do mine!
On my phone, so searching is up to you.

Thanks Brother, Did find it.

I understand the the reason for the stitching since the crease will be the weak point of the sealant and when dry may crack first. I guess she will see allot of SPF30-50 on it after I am done,

Just order $50 piece of Black leather 60"X36", will post results, but first windshield swap. Will practice on my buddy's spare dash, making patterns .
