Using bottle jack to jack both sides at the same time.
Anyone can think of a way to make a bar that can safely/stable on top of the bottle jack to lift both sides of one axles at the same time?

Thought about this before.........
I had the same idea or plan before I had my hydraulic lift but I was planning two (2) bottle jacks instead. These were my sketches for the torsion bar and a third one using the jacking hole at the side of the car.
![]() If you plan to use a single bottle jack, you would need a strong I-beam type bar to run across the car but the problem is stability of the set-up. It is doable but would need a heavy contraption and the proper set-up to prevent it from turning or twisting. So I was inclined to do the 2 jacks tandem. Materials are tubes cut approx. 2" (with the correct ID) welded to angular bars, sliced pipe/tubes, and U-channels (jack hole). It would be interesting to hear other ideas about this project. Tony |
