Fresh Air Vent Block Off - Any Interest?

My friend who is a fabricator made me one of these. I've had a couple people reach out on my build thread asking about it. Any interest from anyone else?

18 guage steel, metal shaped to fit behind OEM mesh grill, holes predrilled and fits using OEM hardware. I used some sealant to ensure water tight. Not making any money on this so it's just to share the wealth.

Cost is $75 per piece right now. If I can get it to 5 pieces cost comes down to $70 per piece. Even more pieces = further reduced cost.

Shipping to most US locations is under 10 bucks from Canuckland.

Nifty fabrication! Why not aluminum or composite, like Kydex versus steel?
Being w/o AC and pivoting side vent windows I prefer the fresh air intake…once the blower fan stops squealing.

He is an old school body guy by trade, only doing this for me as a favor, so not going to look a gift horse in the mouth if you know what I mean

I recently received my block off plate and the fit and shape looks great.

I haven't installed it yet, but I like the look so far. See the attached photos.

Thanks Ebby.

OK, I presume this is for a track car.

It does look good and with no airbox, blocking the flow out of the trunk is likely a good idea. Why not build a light air diverter to blow air on the driver? More cockpit air is usually a good thing unless you are doing top speed runs.

When I do a track day or autocross, I always crank the vent fan up to max, and have it blow on the floor to get more air on me. Building a diverter to blow it out on your face would be great.

Mine is mostly a street car with occassional track use. This thread is for a block off plate if anyone wants one. If not, that's fine!

FWIW cracking a window and opening the pop outs has worked just fine for me.
