Need to borrow Lambda unit

Anyone in the Fayetteville/Raleigh area who would let me borrow their Lambda Control Unit from a 81-83 SC for trouble shooting purposes?

Hmmmmm.................

Heading down to my dad's place in Gastonia tomorrow or Thursday and taking the Passat from Ohio.

How long you need it and what is it you are trying to do?

Just need it for less than an hour. When I went to set dwell I got no fluctuation at all. The numbers were in range but no movement. The open and close loop numbers never moved. Same with O2 sensor connected and disconnected. Continuity between Lambda unit and FV was good along with O2 wiring. FV never buzzed but had good ohm value of 2.8. Figure swapping lambda unit with a known good one would help troubleshooting.

I am leaving in the morning.

You want to drive to Gastonia? I bet I can fix that bad boy in my Dad's driveway on Saturday.

Betcha it's the O2 sensor or you are not hooking up the dwell right. I will have a dwell meter AND a generic Bosch O2 sensor so it's you your call.

I will bring my box but need confirmation you are down with the drive over tonight or early AM.

Bob,
Thanks for the offer but I think I'm going to do some more troubleshooting. Tonight I will check the 15 and 35 degree switches. They're not looking good. The engine cam tower temp measure 80 degrees and the 15 degree switch wasn't closed so I put it in the freezer and will check later with boiling water.

Once again thanks. Good thing I have a '77 that drives great.

PS
O2 sensor is brand new

Bob,
I would like to pick your brain sometime if you don't mind.

Eric
