RPM signal to weak for Zeitronix

I installed a Zeitronix some time ago, with RPM, O2 sensor and MAP sensor. Later I will add air temperature sensors on the intake and exit of my new IC.

However, I have never managed to get the RPM readings to work!

Currently, I'm running the RPM signal from the back side of the tach, and a solid ground signal directly from the battery. Other sensors work fine, but the Zeitronix does not register the RPM signal.

I have connected a small hand held scope to the signals, and can record RPM signals, albeit somewhat noisy. I have contacted Zeitronix support, and after telling them about the voltage level of my scope signal, they say it is too low. The voltage is 2.5-3V.

Have any other Zeitronix owners had this same problem? If so, did you manage to fix the problem?
Where do Zeitronix owners take their RPM signal from?

Appreciate any help on this issue. I'm going to need the data from the Zeitronix for tuning soon, so its time to fix the problem.

I tapped into pos. 21 (BLK/VIO wire ) to the Tach on the DME board. Works fine.

It's a Zt-2. It is on a 1980 930, with Bosch K-Jetronic (CIS), so no DME
