Evap system with rain hats
Looking for info on how people are running the evap/tank vents when using rain hats. I have a 71 w/2.2 and zeniths. Could find what I needed with a search.

Ok thanks,
let me try to explain....the existing fuel tank vapor control system has a couple of lines that go to the stock air box which keeps the charcoal canister purged. Since I have rain hats, there is no air flow for that to happen. Do people just plug those, attach them to the rain hats somehow, etc... Thanks |

kit
I think I have that Kit but never installed it from what I remember its a plastic hose adapter maybe a tee it is to take the oil tank vent line and route it to the hole in the rain shield, my watershead covers have a hole on one side. The connector and hose let you route the oil tank breather to one of the watershed lids. There may have been a side tap on the adapter for a small line for the charcoal canister vent. I think the intent of the charcoal vent line is not necessarily to have flow but to have the vent line fumes taken in and burned by the engine, as opposed to just venting to atmosphere.

When I got PMO carbs for the 70 the rainshields and all the connections came with them. PMO has all that stuff. Hooked up with no problems.

Vent lines
+1 on PMO . If i am not mistaken Richard at PMO had the first designs for the Watershead covers stamped. The tee fitting , elbow fittings and tubing is shown on the lower left of this picture. The tee is a little unique since it has a larger diameter on one end. and the two smaller conections close together and parallel to one another. It does not need to duplicate that exactly but is more compact with that configuration.
