Actually, I just found where I read about the emergency front hood release method. It is in my Bentley SC Service Manual section 550-4. The method actually involves removing the front bumper and drilling a small hole into the body at a specified location. The Bentley description has picture also of the suggested tool to insert and release the lock.

Good luck.

Appreciate the help guys. I ended up having Marc Bixen at Redline help me out. They got the trunk open without having to drill (via Bentley manual suggestion) and then also took out all that alarm malarkey - which, by the way, I think was actually causing some other problems in the electrical system of the car. Glad that episode is over and done with.

Come to think of it, how did you get that trunk open Marc? Not sure I ever got the full story. What exactly was the elbow grease you used?

I took the alarm out today. Some of the wiring was a pain to restore, but overall not to bad.

The keypad fell apart in my hand - the membrane for the keys had disintegrated.

The solenoid for the trunk lid was scorching hot - I think I know what was drawing my battery down.

Now I have a hole in my dash but I'm happier.

Strangely, the car seems to start more easily. I'm wondering if the alarm was delaying spark or fuel.

Thanks for the help guys!
