Front ride height waaay off, scratching my head.
I've put new torsion bars all around (22/29) and had Chuck revalve my front inserts. The backs came with Tbars. After getting everything buttoned up I lowered the car and WHOOPS! This does not look right. I've fiddled with the adjuster bolt and it doesn't do much.
You'll notice the sway bar not fully mounted yet, I'm waiting for the bushings to arrive. Nonetheless, I don't think that matters. I'm kinda scratchin' my head on this one. Not sure why it would be so far off. Any suggestions? Thanks, ![]() ![]()

to re-index do you pull off the adjustment thing by removing that little endcap or do you need to reindex it at the front? more details on that please. I probrobly need to do my 914 and im hopeing I can get away without pulling off the airdam again

When you install new torsion bars or even the old (that have been removed), the adjuster bar will need to be set at a point so that it actually works.
On my car, with the front jacked up off the ground, remove the torsion bar adjuster cap & screw. Then you want to re-install with the cap set at the farthest point that it would be if the screw was completely screwed in. A little hard to explain but think of it like this....if the car is jacked up, the suspension is in the highest ride height position. If you actually wanted it this way, you would have to screw in the adjuster all the way to fully raise the car like that. So when installing the adjuster from scratch, you want to position it so that the screw would be in the fully screwed in position. This way, when you set the car back down, the adjuster will be in the highest ride height position and you can now begin to back out the screw to lower the car. If you start with the adjuster in the middle, then you are leaving yourself very little room for adjustment. Hope that makes some sense. I had the same issue when I installed my front bars but I eventually figured it out. |

Notice that in you picture of your adjuster, it is in the dead middle (yet the car is sitting very high). The adjuster should be in the fully raised position (which would be angled towards the ground). This way, you have much more room for adjustment - which you need to get the car back down to normal height. Right now, you only have half the amount of total adjustment but you need more.
