Brake Fluid Testing Lab?
I'm thinking of testing some old brake fluid when I flush it out this year.
What is a good, inexpensive testing lab to send it to (% moisture)? |

Why not test it yourself?
There are many brake fluid testers available. Some fancy digital ones are more expensive ($150), decent less accurate ons are about $40, and test strips are very cheap. I use a refractometer at work and have an OTC 4598 at home Here's a coulpe Pelican Parts.com - Brake Fluid Tester Pelican Parts - Product Information: W0040-M33 |

Randy,
Feel free to send it to me - I'll test it for you at no charge (metals, viscosity, oxidation, water...). Still have my address?

Conductivity meters I believe. Only thing it would tell you was if water was present. A quick and free way to test is the 'crackle method'. Get a metal spoon and put your test fluid in it. Put a flame under it as if you were prepping smack. If the oil crackles and pops when it gets really hot that means you have entrained water...
