Cup Holder for 1984 Carerra.

If you've been looking for a cupholder for your p-car I found one that works for me quite well.

The Cup-Pilot: Purchase : Cup-Pilot

"Originally designed for the Porsche 911 and Boxster models, it fits most other vehicles. "

I can attest that hanging it in the little air vent by the drivers side door works like a charm. Stable, out of the way, in perfect reach...brilliant.

5-stars.

Pelican Parts should pick it up in their catalog.

Big fat roll of duct tape sitting on the seat next to you works well too.

Don't mind the snoobs Greg. These are the same guys that say you should not have a radio so you can hear the engine. Or pull out that A/C and roll down a window! This Summer when I drive through wine country in Santa Barbara up Hwy 1 and 101 I'll have my tunes and my coffee and be somewhat cool. OK, I won't be cool but I'll have that other stuff.

Water is my kidney stone med so I drink a lot of it. I got the Evo Supercup cup holder that pelican sells. Works well and is all but invisible. Mounts to front of seat rail. Mine is under my left leg.

Gamin, put a little lemon in that water (and some Percocet in your glove box in case it doesn't work)!

My bud told me to not put a cup holder in a P car ever. I found a good one, I need my coffee, and I need to drive while drinking my coffee mostly with the top off.

Am I the only one that just sticks my water bottle in the door pocket just ahead of the inner door handle? My travel mug for coffee fits fine as well. For the traditionalists I do keep a role of duct tape in the rear floorboard for the occasional paper cup. -J

Duct tape. Works VERY well. Seriously. Holds my 16-oz coffee mug or a water bottle. And it is always at the ready for a roadside repair!

Dunkin Donuts large foam cup gets stuck in the Evo Cup holder.
I have yet to modify it...but everything else fits fine...and its pretty discrete.

Me, too. Seems perfect for 20 ouncers and normal water bottles.

I made one out of some bent and welded aluminum, covered it in alcantara and bolted it to the top of the heater control housing between the seats - works great and holds all cups except coffee mugs. Rough drawing of what I'm talking about:

Paid $4 at Autozone 6 years ago. Wedges in between the front seats of my 88 3.2. Lean it up against the heater control switch, very snug. Good for disposable coffee'like cups only. Won't keep bottled drinks in place.

My grandfather (HUGE car guy by the way...Caddy's, Pierce Arrows, etc in the 20's and 30's, later a 69 Dodge Charger, but nothing European unfortunately) had a great device that was sort of a bean bag with a cupholder in it. It was fairly heavy and you could sort of mold it to a seat or the floor and it would stay put pretty much regardless of what you did. I guess there's no market for something like that so I'd probably have to make it myself.
BTW +1 on the duct tape but I may look into something more high tech like the product Pelican sells or the one the OP listed.

I have a sliding arm rest in my Carrera. It holds two drinks. Seems to be factory install. Never saw another one like it. I'm sure others have one.
