Per your advice I replaced a smelly cooked battery with a new Delco..Ordered a voltage regulator from Pelican Parts... I delivered the reg to my wrench for installation..He called this morning saying he can't understand why he's getting nothing from the alternator now...the only clue is that he noticed the trunk light stays on full time..I never noticed that before..and that he found the lamp by tracing a 2 amp drain from the battery. He's taking the alternator to a shop for testing...Lowredda is an 85 911 coupe (red/red) please help I appreciate your wisdom and experience...Mabey I can still make it to Thunderhill tomorrow to watch the Golden Gate Region event.

After 3 hours shop time and a separate bench test it was determined that the Ass Wipe French included a bogus bunch of wiring instructions with my new Valeo Voltage Regulator... I'm out $250.00 as a result...My wrench, a Porsche specialist since 1955, factory trained, is off the hook....
