Yet another past due intro...2 year history of Porsche Passion

Let the fun begin! The car is a '78SC Targa, her name is Eva, with 173,325 on the clock. I got her with 167,xxx on the clock and 7 years of dirt from sitting in a parking garage. Car received a full top end rebuild, clutch, head studs etc at 143,xxx...which was in 1994. Soon after, the original Desert Tan was sprayed over with Guards Red...it was the 90s and it was a California car.

We started our love affair with a 3mile ride and breakdown. I learned quickly that the towing package on the Collector Insurance policy was the best $9.99 ever spent.

I can not thank everyone on this forum for either direct support or simply having added your knowledge to something and I was able to benefit from it. The vast breadth and depth of knowledge on this site is simply staggering and seemingly priceless.

Having the car for 2 full years now, its almost 100% sorted and my understanding of its functionality makes the owning/driving it incredibly rewarding.

What's been done:

PAINT: 100+ hours of paint correction, polishing, and buffing to get the 20 y/o mediocre respray to look descent. Trim was all redone as well. Lots of silicone product for the rubber parts too. Really wish this car was still tan....only 287 made in '78. Take a look at the original pick, the thing was pink when I got it and I'm pretty sure the PO used a garage broom instead of a sponge to wash it...

INTERIOR: Door tops changed to black to match dash-top. Custom made Pegasus shift knob, Momo Mod 07, radio delete etc etc

DRIVETRAIN: Serious degreasing to start. Fabspeed Cat-bypass, Fabspeed muffler delete, Fabspeed CF airbox with K&N, valve-adjustment, trans service, couplers changed, all new oil lines, plugs, wires, dizzy, BP 20w-50, new alternator, belt/rubber goods, new fuel pump, filters,CIS tuned by shop here in CT, and smog pump delete.
Complete A/C delete all condensers, the compressor, lines, holes filled etc.
Complete Heat delete, removed f/r blower motors.

CHASSIS/EXT: Car has Bilstein HDs, just lowered, corner balanced, and aligned. Tossed on a set of Euromeister 17x7/9s wrapped in Nitto NT01s for more of that mechanical grip. Targa bars powder coated black, ER Strut Tower brace. Euro rear lenses, front oil cooler scoop. Removed wipers, added chin spoiler.

The car has lost 191lbs to date.

There are too many details to list. I hope you guys like this and some of my Magnus inspired photos...

When she first came home after a bath, for comparison.

Nice rescue! SC's always have been the best. They just need some TLC.

Nice! I might be in Cromwell next weekend. Maybe we can have coffee and check out your car.

Thanks! My wife thinks I am completely nuts and never thought I would like a car as much as I do this thing...I didn't either.

Porsche experience really is incredible and has completely changed me.

Sweet ride indeed.
Would also like to see her in person.
Looks like she is in good hands.

Your car looks mean. I love the Euromeisters and the painted NT01 on the tires. Very motosport chic.
