Floor Mats
I need new floor mats for my 85, 911 Carrera. Pelican sells mats from 2 different suppliers- one of them from Lloyd which are more expensive. Does anyone have a recommendation between these 2? Thanks.

Floor Mats
Absolutely recommend the Lloyd's Mats. Craftsmanship and materials are top of the line, and color and fit is perfect. I just added to my '87; see photo below. I got the "Ultimats" version. Thickness is plush and full, but not overly so. You will not be disappointed.

Thanks. I suspected you get what you pay for, but I thought I'd ask. And, I appreciate the picture.

+1 on the Lloyds. My fronts have clips/straps that attach to the seat rails and keep the mats from sliding around. -J

although not sold by pelican, I couldn't be happy with my cocomats (Welcome To Cocomats.com). They're wearing incredibly well, capture and hide dirt and (imo) look great!

The Lloyds mats work great. I had a worry about the fit of the rears on my Targa, as a previous set (maybe 15 years ago) didn't fit well, but the current ones, purchased a few weeks ago, fit perfect.

+1 on the Lloyds mats. Excellent quality, and a very large range of colors.

My car came to me with a set of Lloyd mats, nice fit. I had Cocomats in a previous car ('71 240Z) and they were great as well.

Lloyds...& don't forget the mat that covers the rear seat-backs when in the "down" position.

Lloyds
Both Lloyds and Cocoa are great, but Lloyds offer the embroidery option, which I think adds a little individuality to our various models. PM sent.

Maybe it's just me, but I was disappointed in the Lloyds mats. Quality and construction is top notch, well made, but....
They are not an exact match. Far from it. The fronts are shorter than factory, and the drivers rear is so short it doesn't come anywhere near the clip that the factory used to keep it from sliding forward. On the drivers side, about 10" of the floor is now uncovered. I just wish they had the "upgrade" to EXACT match to the original factory shape. I would have gladly paid $20-40 more for the 2-3 sq.ft. carpeting that would have been required. Heck, I'd even send a cardboard templete of the exact shape that came from the factory. Like I said, I'm in the minority. Very well made, and yet, still disappointed.

As far as quality goes, Lloyds are great. (I purchased the Ultimat version.) Since my interior is blue, I picked the "Blue" option. It is very far off. I was expecting maybe just a tad off color, and I was assuming since they are licensed by Porsche, and being sold through Pelican, Blue would match. I should have checked the larger images of the colors. So depending on your interior, be prepared to accept color differences. The item can't be returned.
The other thing is that it is a tad bigger than my current ones, and I am sure I ordered for an 88 911. I will try to post pictures comparing the colors. On the plus side besides the apparent quality (I only got them today and installed them right away) they also come with installation instructions, straps and a tool to help you fasten them under the seat rails and avoid "unintended acceleration". ![]() |

![]() Since the camera and fluorescent lighting might play tricks on the image, the sweater on the right (with zipper) is black. The mat on the bottom is the old one, and the one on top is the "blue" option for Lloyd's (color #320). There are other blue colors, it turns out, and the website does say you can request samples from the retailer. You may want to explore that if you want color-matched mats. |

After trying a few different brands, I went with Cocomats and I can tell you that they are of excellent quality. They leave the others in the dust--literally.

Coco matts are always good, classic, tough.
Lloyd's are ok. I have a set and they fit my 88 perfectly. They are a little too plush for me....or maybe I'm tired of them. They seem a little too thick when added on top of the factory carpet. I have been thinking of tossing them and going with a nice new set of ruf. The diagonal stitch matches the door cards. Also more room for my big feet: ![]() Another option is inpelle mats. They make a diamond pattern, no pattern and custom stuff too. They are all leather mats, however. The ones I have seen are beautiful but certainly not for every car. ![]()
