Classic Car Rescue 911 on Discover Channel

On the discover channel right now there is a show about restoring a 911. The show is called Classic Car Rescue. It takes place in the UK; I am watching it in the US.

Watching it, too. Wow, is this show terrible. But since it's a Porsche I'm watching anyway. But yikes... -- Matt

Funny, I was just thinking the same thing. But, I'll record it and watch it again I am sure. I like the color they chose though, signal orange.

car rescue

Wow that bald guy is really annoying yelling all the time, he is going to have a heart attack right on the show. The car is a real Frankenstein looks to be a 75 or 76 with a 3.2.

The early 911 rs rear bumper does not match the mid 70's front end and the carrera tail does not match anything either. Wish they would have picked a theme and stuck to it.

They did not do the car any justice...........

The bald guy is a jerk, really. Bernie had another show called Chop Shop London Garage. Did some wacky things to cars.

I'd like to apologise on behalf of Great Britain for this show.........interestingly the car is now for sale on eBay for £12500, not quite what they valued it at!

They could take a page from Wheel Dealers and probably get a front end which matches the rear and be more civil in the process.

car rescue

Yes those Wheeler Dealer guys are awesome and seem to do better work with much better taste than those hacks on Car Rescue. That could have been a really nice 911 if they would have made just a few better choices.

I also saw them mess up an E type Jag by leaving a crappy 80's aftermarket sun roof in the Jaguar. Don't think I can watch anymore, it's too painful to see their work.

I caught that they sprayed paint all over the door stays, and the air box had extra holes cut in it. Their appraiser had to ask if the front valence was original. But its like watching a train wreck - you just can't stop.

I love the putz that shows up to evaluate the car in an outfit that is real conducive to working on cars. There could have been any thing wrong under the car, but as long as there is matching piping, well we have a winner.

It was like putting lipstick on a pig. Put a halfway decent paint job on it and sell it to an unsuspecting ebay buyer 2000 miles away. How do you spend all of that time on bodywork and paint and leave the black paint on the door frames peeling? The engine bay was also a mess. They had an opprotunity to build a really nice car and they blew it. It seems most of these restoration shows today just paint the car and sell it.

Ugh I saw it too. It made me roll my eyes somewhat. Having worked on these cars a lot there is no way one could do a job so quickly and have it be good/quality.
