Thank you
Yes it is, terrible drone with 2-in-2-out @ ~2.5K rpm. Thank you for the insight.

Updates
P people,
First sorry for not following my posts, I was really busy doing other home projects. I drive my original set-up for 2000 miles and i decide to add a cap on each baffles ( 2 exit pipes) since i found the sound level a little to high. The results is great, no significant lost of power, but sound level had drop just enough to make it really enjoyable. The engine sound amazing. When removing the baffles from the pipes, the SS packing was totally gone or compress, therefore useless. Now to answer few questions in previous posts: 2 disk versions is for "race" and is qualify as louder 3 disk is for street application and is qualify as quieter Packing b/w the disk is useless Installing the baffle without caps reduce sound a little bite but more importantly the drone, with little power lose. Installing caps ( one of each ends) reduce the sound and drone even more.kit comes with two caps, one drilled and one completely close. Instruction explained how to install these caps for optimum results. Finally, experience with this product is awesome, my car was not fun before and this made my hot-rod 964 fun to drive with the family without sacrificing to much power and engine music....really recommend this product. Pat

Sorry to bring back such an old topic, but I have this same problem in my car and it is driving me nuts as wife won't ride in the car because of the terrible drone the car makes at highway speeds or when cruising.
The car is a 964 targa converted to turbo-look by Gemballa in the 90's it had the original mufflers (primary and secondary) and I bought the left valance from a turbo to have both left & right tips. Secondary muffler has been removed the noise has gone a bit up but the exhaust now has a very disturbing drone between 2.000 and 3.000 that makes it very uncomfortable to ride in and makes me try to avoid those rpms all the time. This is how the primary muffler was modified: How would I have to install the baffles (dB Killers)? as in pic A: ![]() or in PC B: ![]() Would also be interesting to install another baffle (dB Killer) in the entrance tube of the muffler or that is not necessary? Thanks a lot for the replies. |

Pic B is correct.. The round disc end of the baffle goes toward the away side of flow.

Is everyone still happy with the Car Chemistry baffles?

I just stuffed two disks in each tail pipe, easily removeable ... the most annoying part was the relentless emails from Car Chemistry asking for pictures of my car ... i had to block them !
As far as the product goes , it works as advertised.

I remember your thread. Did you not think 3 disks would have been better?

The third disks are sitting in my toolbox ... just in case , but i can live with only two for now,i find they really muffle the exaust, guess it's ok for the street but i wouldn't track the car with those things ...
My car passed sound at Tremblant without the disks when i was doing DE's , so without a helmet they do reduce the droning , which is their purpose !
