Needed - 911 Line Drawings
I'm looking for line drawings of 911's in the basic 'elevations': side, top, front/rear
Thanks!

Thom,
I think there are some in the Factory shop manuals. I'll have a look tomorrow if you want..

Thom,
From the 1974 brochure ... If you want the full-sized 6068 x 4860 scan in a 1.5 MB file ... email me, and I will send it to you!

Interesting the wheel track for the front was greater than the rear. Always thought it was the other way around.

Thom, I've got a photo of the original blueprints for the 73 Carrera RS (interestingly titled "Coupe Typ 911 SC") from the top. I can scan it at the office tomorrow. -- Curt
Also, here's a line drawing I did myself about 25 years ago! My rendition of the R & T drawings of the 1975 911 Turbo. It's done by hand with pen & ink on mylar and the car is about 24 inches in length: |

Once I get a matching top view, I'm set!
Here's what I'm trying to do: http://vintagebus.com/cgi-bin/balance.cgi?name=Thom&car=77+911¬es=%231+First+Test+%28empty+trunk%2C+230lb+driv er%2C+1%2F2+tank%29&LF=640&RF=540&LR=800&RR=750 Thanks!

Thom, time for 'Plan B'!
The top view drawing I have falls on the fold in the book so the scan looks like crap. I've gone thru most of my reference books and can't find another top view. I'll keep looking and post if I find something. -- Curt

Thom,
I came across this directory and you might find what you need. The quality doesn't appear good on many, but I didn't go thru the entire list. http://www.blueprint69.com/Porsche/ http://www.blueprint69.com/ -- Curt Last edited by cegerer; 08-02-2002 at 06:57 PM.. |

Damn. He has exactly what I need, but the image he has posted is all but useless. And he emphatically states on the page he won't post or send hi-res scans.

Thom, this is from my owners manual, illustrating jack points. Don't know if it will help.
If you have a lot of time, you can probably do something with the blueprint guy's scans. Blow them up and clean them up with a photo editor. Tom |

Does anyone have a good quality model kit? It looks like some of the nicer models have drawings like this in the instruction docs. I found examples on the 'net, but not for 911s. My Hasagawa VW models have these elevations. Maybe I need to truck down to the hobby store...

Have some models with drawings. This one, and the other is a targa.

I also just found a top view line drawing in a reprint of an AutoTest article on the 73RS. I'll scan it tomorrow. -- Curt

Curt;
I just emailed you some body drawings that I scanned in from my 66-71 shop manuals. They are intended for measureing body shop repairs, but they are essentially the blue prints to the body. They should do just fine for creating a computer model of the cars. Curiously, the exterior drawing only shows a SWB car, I couldn't find a drawing of a LWB car. But the only difference should be the location of the rear wheel cut-out I think. - John
