A little ashamed to admit this, but I am stuck with this simple project. I cannot get the sprocket inside the disk to move I have loosened the locking nuts where the cable attaches to the hub. The brakes are quite new big red conversion so I dont think that rust is the problem. Before I pull the disks off, is there a simple something that I have overlooked?

Brake dust and corrosion have probably collected on the threads of the shaft. Try cleaning it off and apply a penetrating oil to lubricate the threads so you can more the sprocket freely
