Re 1972 911: My flasher relay which operates the blinker, hazard, hand brake warning, is making the clicking sound but no lights are blinking on the dash or outside the car. Any idea? I suspect a short to ground somewhere in the 40 yr old wiring. Where should I start?

Follow the wiring leaving the flasher relay. Since all your lights are out the broken wire must be before it starts branching out to the rest of the car. If you had a short the fuse would blow first

My 88 Targa is the opposite ... Indicator lights inside and outside working great but no clicking. I can live with it, but will likely look for a solution.

The description is a little vague. Does it make the clicking all the time, even when not using the flashers or directionals? Or does it only make the sound when directionals and, or flashers are used. Does the parking brake light come on when you lift the handle?
This is the wiring for the brake system. ![]()
