Another Early Car at Cal Classix!

Are these guys reading the Pelican BBS, or what? In any event, they've simply outdone themselves with this latest eBay ad!

Mark Donohue's Delight!

The late Mark Donohue, legendary race driver, author of "The Unfair Advantage," and Can-Am champion on Porsche 917-30, tested all three Porsche 911 models--the T, E, and S--for the March 1969 issue of Car& Driver magazine.
His favorite: the 911T. He found it to be the most fun to drive flat-out, its gearing best suited to the engine characteristics.

Well, they got it half right. Donohue's favorite was actually a T Targa!

Did you notice this statement:

".... the car looks simply stunning now, in its original, characteristic '70s livery! Even Austin Powers and the local pelicans begrudgingly nod their approval. "

Cute car - but the color; yuk. It looks like it just slipped out the rear end of a dog.

Must..buy..car..from..Cal..Classix..Must..buy..car ..from.... Wow, that was close, I must have been hypnotized for a minute! Luckily my dial-up connection cut out before my bid went through. They certainly know how to wax poetic.

Low RPM "dragging the chain noise"??

And hey, it still has the "unreliable MFI".

Does look like a nice car, however, and it does seem that he has been lurking a bit here. Hehe.

How do I get a "dragging the chain noise"?

How do I get my 73.5 T to make the awesome "dragging the chain noise" I've heard about for so long. I mean, this was the whole reason I bought my car and I feel it's not meeting that expectation!

Nostatic? Nope. Doesn't do it. Can't see a tatoo. But the thought of a real Daytona? OH, GAWD!

Nostatic, As my old man used to say, "she could stop a train, but she won't stop traffic!"

As for the whole gas-in-the-oil-hole thing, what I never understood is that the owner would have to pull up to pump on wrong side and open oil-flap from inside of car! Even in the full-service days! Just doesn't seem possible, unless it was first day of ownership and new owner was too exited to listen to salesman on delivery walk-around. Or loaned the car out, or something.

Paul, I think that car would only be the *thought* of a real Daytona! (Domestic-looking rims and Corvette windshield).

Denis? I knew it was a "miami vice" era kit car. That's why I said that the idea of a real one turned me on...GIMME TATTOO!
