Thumbs up Nice G50 Cab!

Great color combo although may need to detail the interior a lot to keep it looking clean.
I have always change the oil 'in-house'. One time I forgot to re-install the S-hose and started filling with clean oil. Ended up with about 2 quarts on the garage floor. Stuff happens - oh well.
My one piece of advice is to be extremely careful with ramp/jackstands etc. when you have to work under the car. I usually at min. double up on the jack stands and chock the wheels.

You misunderstood me. It is NOT a turbo.

It's an M-491: an option package for a stock Carrera. With the turbo body.

Also has the brakes, suspension and a few other things that are standard on the 930.

It is not a turbo, though.

You call THAT an oil spill?? Merely a minor fluid leak. LOL.

Nice car. You will really enjoy the ownership experience.

Good looking car - If it's a true M491 car (and not just flares added) it will have an option code sticker on the inside of the wheel well - on the left side of the trunk (under the carpet) that will lest the option codes. One would be M491 - the rest probably would be three digit codes - such as 220 if it has a limited skip differential.

I'm a Conroe boy myself - - and while a cream interior might be tough to keep clean - it makes sense in a climate like that in the Woodlands...

Jeremy do you live on the Lake, near a Walker and Walls? If so, I know them both well.

My options codes is on the bonnet

I went to HS and used to live in River Plantation

Here's your option codes

Code Option Description
158 Radio "Monterey" - 86 "Reno" - 87
383 Sport seat - left
387 Sport seat - right
454 Automatic speed control
491 Turbo look
533 Alarm system
975 Velour carpet in luggage compartment
C02 Equipped with catalytic converter

the 491 option is also known as a M491 option or "turbo" look - congrats - it's a rare car, especially in that color combo

There it is; bottom line "491".

So your car is a real M491. Congrats. They are worth more than the standard body/car and are rare.

Cool car with the rare M491 package and the sport seats, which I think are the most comfortable seats ever made.

hmm I'm trying to get my hands on a car that sounds like a 491. I will file this information away for later use.

Well the second week has been fun and frustrating.

It has been fun to install a few replacement parts but the more I dig the more I see what previous owners neglected, like:

- broken washer pump and cut washer water feed lines ... WTF?
- significant extra wires from previous stereo and alarm system (removed by me)
- alarm horn zip tied to stock horns - relocated to inside front boot
- broken cruise cable
- strut braces for hood shot (replaced)

Congrats on a nice find.
Mine is an '88, sister colour to yours, and my interior is the same.
Enjoy :-)
