Fast Flashing

Have just posted a separate comment on electrics, as a separate and pre-existing issue, I have fast flashing direction signals.

All directional lights, brake and reverse lights are operational, I am missing one side maker (forwarded drivers - corroded fitting) and do not have license plate lights (removed the rear bumpers - heavy!!!) would the missing bulbs explain the fast flashing?

TIA

Yes, for the flasher bulb only, not the license plate lights. I believe the flasher blinks double-speed to let you know there is an issue.

I found that Narva brand bulbs caused issues of fast flash and both warning lights flashing after the initial correct flash. Changed to a full set of the same rated Hella bulbs and everything is good again. A missing bulb will usually only cause that side to flash faster.

Many thanks, I know I have mis-matched bulbs, will change all out and see if it helps, it is the driver side side marker that is missing due to corroded fitting, but all lights flash fast.

Thanks again.

Had the same rapid flashing problem......in my case it turned out to be the flasher relay.

Get an electronic flasher unit...they do not depend on the resistance of all the bulbs to set the timing.
