Do you need to use Pertronix?
MSD has a great coil for our engines. The MSD High Vibration Blaster Coil - 8222 - is one of the most common replacements. Of course, most folks are also equipped with a MSD 6A or 6AL. You may already have a Pertronix ignition box???

With a CDI it's best to use an "E & I" laminated iron core transformer type "coil" rather than the simple "I" core coil.
Excellent tutorial, even OUTSTANDING.. Quick read, page 45-46 and 58. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCwQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.worldphaco.net%2Fuploads%2FCA PACITIVE_DISCHARGE_IGNITION_vs_MAGNETIC_DISCHARGE_ IGNITION..pdf&ei=mDK7Ud_NK8f6qwGj8oDAAg&usg=AFQjCNFwi_UAT21C-XTGAVaRHuqNm8xVqg Last edited by wwest; 06-14-2013 at 07:53 AM.. |
