71 starting concern ?

I was driving my 71 yesterday, which is always a great experience, and noticed my radio would flicker on and off quickly. I figured it's a loose ground connection and would check it when I made it home. However I stopped somewhere and when I went to start the car it wouldnt turn over. I checked the positive battery connection and found it secure but the wires were warm. I attached jumper cables and the car turned over fine and started right up. I drove the car home. Turned it off and then was able to restart it several times without a concern.

Any ideas.. or just a weak battery? (battery is actually not that old) (alt. also not old)

Thought id post to get some ideas before I go to look it over, even if it is just something simple. Thanks

it is only warm whenever there is a bad connection. It will burn out your alternator and boil your battery.

I did notice the main positive lead connected to the battery firmly. There were 2 other wires attatched to the top of the positive post that were in fact a little loose secured each with a 10mm bolt. the 10mm is what was loose on each. I believe one of them goes to my ignition switch. Think this could be the culprit?

Take it all apart and clean and retighten, simple insurance. New fasteners make it look much better.
