new Fuchs (17,) dont know if I like them (pics)

NEW PICS OF THE WHEELS PAINTED DIFFERENT WAYS ON PAGE 2

NEW PICS ON PAGE 2

hey everyone,

I picked up a set of 17 inch Fuchs for my 911 sc, I'm just not sure I really like them. I bought them because my 16 inch fuchs have race tires on them and I did not want to kill them on the street.

BEFORE AND AFTER

BEFORE

AFTER

they almost seem to clash with the car, im going to remove the center caps and see if I like that more- I don't know- what do you think?

With such large wheels you can and probably should go with really low profile rubber.

What size tires are on right now, and what were they before?

As it is, it's a look I could live with.

You have got a gorgeous car.

The only problem I see in the pictures, is the fact I cannot see the tires. At least not pny iPhone. That looks odd. Other photos in different light?

I think the car looks much better with the 16 inch wheels!

I think they look good, but I think black centers would look better with a silver car. What brand are the 17's?

You can try 911dean suggestion. Use Plasti dip spray, if you do not like the look you can peel it very easily.

They look ok but I would black them out completely as suggested.

I agree with some of the previous statements regarding the colour. Perhaps black centres would make them look a bit less 'cartoonish'. I have 17s on mine with an RSR finish, but the car is dark blue and so they don't seem so awkward. In my opinion, black wheels just work on light colours like silver or white.

I'd just paint the centres and leave the silver rim like the stockers. All black wheels don't seem quite right to me.

BTW, the car looks sweet with the black wheels, and I suspect with black 17s with the silver lip, would look very similar, but with a better choice for tires.

I think it will look perfect once they are blacked out.

I personally like the way the car is in the first picture but I don't think there is anything wrong with the 17" wheels. If I were you I'd give them the same treatment as your 16s, meaning the blacked out centers or another style since you already have a silver car. Beautiful car by the way.

Remove the black entirely. Like this:

I have a weakness for the all-silver Fuchs.

I like the 16's, but IMO the problem with the 17"s is the centre caps. Remove them and you'll have something.

If you decide you really dont like them, PM me and maybe I can take them off your hands. My car has a set of Fikse FM5's that I just cant get used to looking at.

I actually like the silver "RSR-ish" finish but I think they would look better with either silver or no center caps.

The way your car is set up, the" no center cap" look would be effective, IMO. And it's free!

The finish doesn't do it for me since it is very close to the body color, or maybe it's just the pics. I would've gone for the 17s but with black centers and polished lips. But that's just me.

I think the big wheels are a necessary evil. They don't look bad, provided they fit properly and are finished well, but they don't really look quite right, either. I also think your suspension had better be tip-top. Old cars with old suspension and big wheels/tires can be downright scary!

I think they look great! (Biased source owner of 17" Euros)

I would loose the center caps completely. I feel there are soo many options to finish these wheels with your color car.

-Full black (I'm planning on doing this eventually, leaving the spokes matte and glossing the barrels)
-Magnus Walker inspiration. Polish just the rim. Seen it in person a few times...looks TIts
-Little different...change whel studs to longer and add steel lug nuts. Without center caps it looks great.
-color match the already silver painted "rsr" styled areas to your paint...

I gtg detail the wife's show car (seriously, she has 1) fresh out of new ideas for now.
