koz77911's channel - YouTube
I have not used the GM HEI, but I have used the Ford EDIS system many times and it is what I am using on my engine test stand. If you follow the link to my youtube channel...about 1/2 of the 911 engines firing up are using Ford EDIS and Megasquirt for ignition and fuel control. regards, Al PS: inexpensive and they work very well. The Megasquirt site has quite a bit of info on these systems.

I seem to recall that GM HEI is not particularly well thought of for high RPM applications, even in the GM enthusiast camp. Cheap, but maybe not well suited for our uses?

I used it on a 78 3.0 CIS engine and it worked very well. Even with my plugs gapped at 60", it never skipped a beat.
